Blade Cutters
Rotary or pizza wheel blades are probably the most widely used digital textile cutters for cutting technical textiles, leather and composites. Aeronaut can offer almost any style of cutter from entry level self-installed machines to the longest and widest cutters in the world, all fitted with versatile and future-proof quick change tooling.

Ultrasonic Cutters
Fitted with ultrasonic tooling, sonotrode cooling, digital pressure control, an ultrasonic specific vacuum table and software optimised for the process, these cutters are virtually ubiquitous in Window Furnishings and excel with composites such as MLIs thanks to sophisticated edge-sealing.

Laser Cutters
Using US made laser tubes, Aeronaut’s flatbed laser cutters offer advanced contactless cutting with excellent precision at up to a metre a second. CO2 lasers are available air-cooled and water-cooled, pulse or continuous wave along with fume extraction systems to guarantee clean, safe cuts.

Special Purpose Machines

Frequently asked questions
High ply or low ply?
The first decision to make is whether you need a high ply or a low ply cutter. Aeronaut only makes low ply and single ply cutters. As a generalisation, high ply cutters are used for high volume, low cost goods such as garments and upholstery where high accuracy is not required. Low and single ply cutters are used for high-value, lower volume goods where greater cutting accuracy is needed. Low ply cutters can perform tasks such as marking, creasing, scoring, sanding and buffing which are not possible with high ply cutters or conveyor tables.
Low ply cutters are actually used for both low and high volume production, but are perhaps more suited to industries where high accuracy is required, and short runs, just-in-time production or one-offs are made.Our customers do cut multiple layers where the job demands it, but typically, most Aeronaut cutters only cut one layer of material at a time, which can be up to 20 mm in thickness.
