Precise cutting with minimal waste
Our Laser Cutters can cut:

Aeronaut Flatbed Laser Cutters
Aeronaut manufactures flatbed laser cutters intended for technical textiles and on the whole, they are big machines. Aeronaut does not manufacture the small laser-in-a-box style cutters which typically come from China and are intended for small size work, typically in signs and engraving where they do a good job.
Low Power Lasers
With the exception of laser cutters, all Aeronaut cutters have quick-change tooling, either bayonet mount tools, loaded from above, or Cam-lock tools fitted from below the cutting head. Quick-change tooling means you can fit all the cutting, creasing, sealing and punching tools Aeronaut makes in a few seconds without fiddling with blades under the cutting head.
Medium Power Lasers
Lasers in this class can be air or water cooled. These lasers are very versatile because they can cut a wider range of materials at production speeds while still be light enough for rapid acceleration. Lasers in this class are all CW lasers.
High Power Lasers
Aeronaut’s high power lasers range in output from 100 to 250 watts. Lasers in this class are all pulse lasers. The high quality beam path offers a sharp cut with less discolouration at the cut zone for some critical fabrics. Higher power lasers are excellent at production sail cutting where the running costs can be less than a blade cutter.

More versatile than ever, our range of laser cutters have power outputs from 60, 80 and 100+ watts.

Low maintenance machines
Get cleaner optics and less maintenance on mirrors and lenses from purge ports and an expanded beam path.

Precision linear bearings
All Aeronaut lasers are fitted with linear bearings on the gantry which enhances the fine detail work that lasers are capable of.

Optimum laser power control
Thanks to our advanced software, you can now reliably mark most fabrics with reliable perforated dots or segmented lines, without through-cutting.

Frequently asked questions
High ply or low ply?
The first decision to make is whether you need a high ply or a low ply cutter. Aeronaut only makes low ply and single ply cutters. As a generalisation, high ply cutters are used for high volume, low cost goods such as garments and upholstery where high accuracy is not required. Low and single ply cutters are used for high-value, lower volume goods where greater cutting accuracy is needed. Low ply cutters can perform tasks such as marking, creasing, scoring, sanding and buffing which are not possible with high ply cutters or conveyor tables.
Low ply cutters are actually used for both low and high volume production, but are perhaps more suited to industries where high accuracy is required, and short runs, just-in-time production or one-offs are made. Our customers do cut multiple layers where the job demands it, but typically, most Aeronaut cutters only cut one layer of material at a time, which can be up to 20 mm in thickness.
